CLEAN DEVELOPMENT MECHANISM AND JOINT IMPLEMENTATION
VALIDATION OF CDM AND JI PROJECTS Validation comprises of a desk study and international stakeholder consultation followed by verification of key data and assumptions in the host country. To protect the environmental and financial integrity of the CDM and JI, SGS offers a rigorous validation service designed to ensure that projects generate real, long term emission reductions.
SGS United Kingdom Ltd is the central office for our CDM and JI activities. They are assisted by strategically selected Supporting Affiliates who employ trained staff and have the capacity to negotiate and deliver services on behalf of SGS United Kingdom Ltd. Other offices provide local assessors with knowledge of local language, common practice, customs and the prevailing policy and legislative environment.
VERIFICATION AND CERTIFICATION OF CDM AND JI PROJECTS Verification involves repeated visits to the project to verify the implementation of the monitoring plan and verification and certification of emission reductions. The SGS network enables us to offer a unique proposition. With 1100 offices in 140 countries, more often than not we will be closer to your project than anyone else. SGS can realistically offer cost effective verification and certification of ERs on a monthly or quarterly basis, turning this into a regular cash flow.
Verification and certification is the last step in what can be a long process. SGS has extensive experience of verification from the UK ETS, EU ETS, CCAR, voluntary projects and other schemes. This experience decreases the risk of further delay or problems during this final phase of your project.
