SGS Ireland is preparing to provide annual GHG emission verification services to Irish industries captured under the EU ETS.
Baseline verification is expected to be undertaken by the Irish Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). SGS Ireland will support this initiative through provision of pre-verification services.
In preparation for Annual Verification, SGS Ireland will either apply for accreditation from the Irish National Accreditation Board or, if multi-lateral recognition of accreditation is forthcoming, prepare to implement the existing UKAS accredited procedures in the UK.

To help companies prepare for annual verification, SGS Ireland offers Pre-Verification services to check that monitoring and reporting plans (a) will deliver the required levels of accuracy and (b) are being correctly implemented. This service is designed to ensure that key data is not lost after 1^st January 2005 – when it could have an impact upon the verifiers ability to issue a suitable verification opinion.
